No stay on CAA, SC grants Centre 3 weeks' time to respond to pleas | Top News of Mar 19, 2024

[00:01:47] A bench headed by Chief Justice D. Wichens Ritu posted the matter for a resumed hearing

[00:01:52] on April 9th.

[00:01:53] Solicitor General Tushar Mehata appearing for the Center told the bench that he needed

[00:01:58] four weeks to file a reply to the 20 applications.

[00:02:02] These applications how sought a stay on the rules till the apex court disposes of the

[00:02:07] petitions challenging the Constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.

[00:02:13] With that told the bench also comprising Justice J. Padivala and Manoj Misra that

[00:02:18] CAA does not take away the citizenship of any person.

[00:02:25] The Supreme Court on Tuesday came down heavily on Padangeli Ayurveda for failing to respond

[00:02:30] to conduct notice for issuing misleading advertisements and ordered Yoga Guru Ramthit to appear before

[00:02:36] it.

[00:02:37] The bench also summoned Padangeli Managing Director Alcharya Balakrishna.

[00:02:42] The Supreme Court last month pulled up Padangeli for prime of phase violation of its assurances

[00:02:47] aborted its products and statements claiming their medicinal efficacy.

[00:02:52] The court had issued a notice to Padangeli and Balakrishna asking why condemned proceedings

[00:02:57] should not be initiated against them.

[00:03:00] The order states both Ramthi and Balakrishna were prime of phase in violation of sections

[00:03:05] three and four of the Trucks and Remedies Act which deal with misleading ads of medicines.

[00:03:13] India once again rejected the absurd claims and baseless arguments made by Shaina on

[00:03:28] The Minister of External Affairs in an Official Statement and Tuesday noted that the people

[00:05:40] He had earlier accused the BCP of not doing justice to his LGP faction and indicated that

[00:05:45] he may walk out of the ruling national democratic alliance saying they are free to go anywhere

[00:05:51] and those are open.

[00:05:53] His expression of disappointment with the BCP came days after the ruling party struck

[00:05:58] his seat share and deal with his nephew, Chirak Pashwan, who heads another faction of the

[00:06:03] Lok Jan Shikthi party, ignoring the union minister's claim over several Lok Sabile seats in

[00:06:08] Bihar including Hishroof.
