[00:01:14] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday there would be no permanent

[00:01:18] ceasefire in Gaza until Hamas' military and governing capabilities were destroyed.

[00:01:23] His comments in a statement published online came after US President Joe Biden said

[00:01:27] that Israel had proposed a three-phase deal for a ceasefire in Gaza in exchange

[00:01:31] for Hamas releasing hostages.

[00:01:33] Netanyahu said the notion that Israel would agree to a permanent ceasefire before these

[00:01:37] conditions are fulfilled was a non-starter.

[00:01:39] On Friday, Joe Biden laid out a three-phase Israeli proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza,

[00:01:44] saying it was time for this war to end.

[00:01:46] Hamas too said it was ready to engage positively and in a constructive manner with

[00:01:50] any proposal based on a permanent ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli forces, the reconstruction

[00:01:54] of Gaza, a return of those displaced and a genuine prisoner swap deal if Israel

[00:01:59] clearly announces commitment to such deal.

[00:02:01] A Delhi court on Saturday reserved for June 5th its order on an application moved by

[00:02:05] Chief Minister and Ahmadi Party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal seeking interim bail in a

[00:02:10] money laundering case linked to the alleged excess policy scam.

[00:02:14] The case being probed by the Directorate of Enforcement relates to the alleged

[00:02:17] corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the

[00:02:21] Delhi government's now-scrapped excess policy for 2021-2022.

[00:02:26] Special Judge Kaveri Baveja reserved the order observing that the application

[00:02:29] was a grant of interim bail on medical grounds and not for the extension of the

[00:02:33] interim bail granted by the Supreme Court.

[00:02:35] The top court had on May 10th granted 21-day interim bail to the Chief Minister

[00:02:39] to enable him to campaign during the Lok Sabha polls.

[00:02:42] It had detected him to surrender on June 2nd, a day after the last phase of

[00:02:46] the seven-phase poll gets over.

[00:02:48] Pune police have arrested the mother of the minor in the Porsche car

[00:02:51] accident case after confirmation that his blood samples were replaced with hers,

[00:02:55] the city police chief said on Saturday.

[00:02:57] As part of their probe, the police also spoke to the minor for about an hour at

[00:03:01] the observation home where he has been sent till June 5th in his mother's presence.

[00:03:05] Citing their investigation into the accident, Commissioner of Police

[00:03:08] Amitesh Kumar said the juvenile's blood samples were swapped with those of his mother.

[00:03:12] Police had told a local court two days ago that the blood samples of the

[00:03:15] 17-year-old juvenile were exchanged with those of a woman.

[00:03:18] Two whitey professionals were killed in the early hours of May 19th in Kalyaninagar

[00:03:22] in Pune after Porsche allegedly being driven by the minor, who the police

[00:03:26] claim was drunk, rammed into their two-wheeler.

[00:03:29] The minor's father, Realtor Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal

[00:03:32] have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family's driver

[00:03:36] and putting pressure on him to take the blame.

[00:03:38] A record temperature registered this week for the capital New Delhi of

[00:03:41] 52.9 degrees Celsius was too high by 3 degrees Celsius,

[00:03:45] the centre said on Saturday, blaming a weather sensor error.

[00:03:48] The India Meteorological Department had investigated Venice's reading

[00:03:51] by the weather station in Mangeshpur, a densely packed corner of Delhi,

[00:03:55] and found a 3 degree Celsius sensor error,

[00:03:57] Earth Sciences Minister Kiran Drijiju said.

[00:04:00] The IMD said in a statement that the maximum temperature

[00:04:02] reported by the Mangeshpur weather station was not correct

[00:04:05] due to malfunctioning of the sensor.

[00:04:07] However, the city's record for heat still appears to have been broken.

[00:04:10] Severe heat has been scorching parts of India for days.

[00:04:13] At least 33 people, including election officials on duty,

[00:04:16] died of suspected heat stroke in the states of Uttar Pradesh

[00:04:18] and Bihar in the north and Odisha in the east on Friday.

[00:04:22] With southwest monsoon intensifying in Kerala two days after its onset,

[00:04:25] heavy downpours last several parts of the state,

[00:04:27] especially in south and central districts,

[00:04:29] triggering landslides, uprooting trees and waterlogging.

[00:04:32] Continuous rain for hours caused widespread destruction

[00:04:35] in the high-range areas of Kottayam and Niddiqai districts,

[00:04:37] while intense rains caused severe waterlogging

[00:04:40] and traffic snarls in the low-lying areas of Trissur district.

[00:04:44] The India Meteorological Department updated its weather warning,

[00:04:47] placing the central district of Trissur

[00:04:48] and northern districts of Malapuram

[00:04:50] and Kodikode under red alert on Saturday.

[00:04:52] An orange alert was sounded in Niddiqai, Palakkad

[00:04:54] and Mayanad and a yellow alert was issued in six districts.
