[00:01:07] A 10-year-old girl was found in West Bengal on Saturday, triggering our son at a police
[00:01:11] outpost by locals who alleged that the minor was raped and murdered.
[00:01:16] Villagers said the minor had been missing since Friday evening and the police did not
[00:01:20] act on their complaint immediately.
[00:01:22] As the body of the girl was recovered by locals from Mashiland in Jainagar area
[00:01:27] early this morning, a mob towed the Mahishmari police outpost and pelted the policeman with stones.
[00:01:33] They also vandalized several vehicles parked outside the outpost and the
[00:01:37] policemen were forced to leave the premises.
[00:01:40] An Israeli strike hit Lebanon's north end city of Tripoli for the first time after
[00:01:45] more bombardment hit Beirut's suburbs.
[00:01:49] Meanwhile, Lebanese security sources said that Safidein, widely expected to
[00:01:53] succeed slain leader Syed Hassan Nasrallah had been untreachable since the strike on Friday.
[00:02:00] Israel has sharply expanded its strikes on Lebanon in recent weeks after nearly
[00:02:04] a year of exchanging fire with Lebanon's Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah.
[00:02:09] Fighting had been mostly limited to the Israel-Lebanon border area, taking
[00:02:13] place in parallel to Israel's year old war in Gaza against Hamas.
[00:02:18] Lebanon's government sees more than 2,000 people have been killed there in
[00:02:22] the past year, most in the past two weeks.
[00:02:26] Incis and rainfall has triggered multiple landslides, mudslides and flash floods in
[00:02:31] Meqalaya, claiming 10 lives and leaving several others injured.
[00:02:35] The natural calamity has also caused infrastructure lows with
[00:02:38] wooden bridges being washed away, houses damaged and road
[00:02:42] connectivity from Dalu to Bakmara and other places completely cut off.
[00:02:46] Chief Minister reviewed the flood situation in the morning and directed
[00:02:50] the district administrations to seek any assistance from the government
[00:02:54] and ensure relief work is carried out in the affected areas.
[00:02:58] A Pune court summoned Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case filed by
[00:03:03] the grand-nephew Vinayik Damodar Savarkar.
[00:03:06] Savarkar's grand-nephew, Sathyaaghi Savarkar, lodged a complaint last year.
[00:03:11] He alleged Rahul Gandhi in his speech made in London in March
[00:03:14] 2023, claimed that VD Savarkar had written in a book that he
[00:03:19] and five to six of his friends once beat up a Muslim man
[00:03:23] and Savarkar felt happy. Sathyaaghi Savarkar said no such
[00:03:27] incident ever took place and that VD Savarkar never wrote
[00:03:31] any such things anywhere. He termed Mr Gandhi's allegations
[00:03:35] as fictitious, false and malicious.
[00:03:39] Malayalam film actor Siddique who faces allegations of
[00:03:44] rape has communicated his willingness to appear for questioning before the special
[00:03:48] investigation team. In August, the museum police in Thiruvandha
[00:03:52] Buram booked the actor in a rape case after receiving a complaint from a female
[00:03:56] actor. The young actor filed her complaint against Siddique following
[00:04:00] the release of the Hema Committee report. The Kerala High Court earlier denied
[00:04:04] Siddique's anticipatory bail in the rape case stating that due to the
[00:04:08] seriousness of the allegations, custodial interrogation was necessary for a proper
[00:04:12] investigation. However, the Supreme Court later granted him
[00:04:16] interim protection from the arrest.
