[00:00:19] Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted that he okayed the pejer attacks in Lebanon in September.

[00:00:26] Israel Army had also earlier confirmed it killed Hezbollah's Hashem Safiyadeen, who was considered successor to Hezbollah chief Hasran Nasrullah.

[00:00:36] Supreme Court rebuked Delhi police on Monday while demanding immediate action on firecracker sale around Diwali days.

[00:00:42] The top court observed, no religion encourages pollution and said the air quality deterioration is affecting the fundamental right to the health of citizens.

[00:00:52] The Kremlin on Monday denied a U.S. media report that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump had spoken on the phone last week about the Ukraine conflict.

[00:01:03] The Washington Post reported Sunday that Trump spoke to Putin on phone telling him not to inflame the conflict in Ukraine.

[00:01:12] The UN has warned that 2024 is set to be the hottest year on record.

[00:01:17] While this year's average temperatures have been 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels,

[00:01:23] the critical target has not yet been surpassed, said UN, as its annual climate conference kicks off in Baku.

[00:01:31] Public campaigning for the upcoming by-elections in Kerala's Vainar Lokseva constituency and Chela Kara Assembly constituency concluded today.

[00:01:41] Polling is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13.

[00:01:47] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed approving the attacks in Lebanon.

[00:01:52] The strikes, which took place in September, killed nearly 40 people and wounded 3,000.

[00:01:58] Most of the casualties were Iran-backed Hezbollah members.

[00:02:02] Netanyahu's spokesperson confirmed it to AFP on Sunday.

[00:02:06] Thousands of pages exploded in Hezbollah strongholds on September 17 and 18,

[00:02:11] which Iran and Hezbollah blamed on Israel.

[00:02:14] Some of the Hezbollah members who were injured reportedly lost their fingers, while some lost their eyesight.

[00:02:20] Hezbollah had called the blast an Israeli breach of its communications network and vowed to avenge the attack.

[00:02:27] The pages were used by Hezbollah members as a low-tech means of communication to evade Israeli location tracking.

[00:02:34] The blast came just hours after Israel announced it was broadening the aims of the war sparked by Hamas's October 7 attacks

[00:02:41] to include its fight against a group's ally Hezbollah along the country's border with Lebanon.

[00:02:47] Last month, Israel's army also confirmed that it eliminated Hezbollah's Hashem Safiyadin,

[00:02:53] an apparent successor of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, in a strike in southern Beirut.

[00:03:00] The Supreme Court on Monday had sharp words for Delhi police and demanded immediate action to stop the sale and bursting of firecrackers in the city around Diwali.

[00:03:09] The court also made the observation that no religion encourages pollution.

[00:03:14] No religion encourages any activity which creates pollution.

[00:03:18] If firecrackers are burst in this fashion, it also affects fundamental rights to health of the citizens.

[00:03:24] A bunch of Justice Abhay S. Oka and Justice Augustin George Massey said hearing a case on Delhi's early air quality crisis.

[00:03:33] The court also demanded that Delhi government take a decision on a permanent ban on firecrackers in the city by November 25th.

[00:03:42] The Kremlin denied a US media report on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin

[00:03:48] and US President-elect Donald Trump had discussed the Ukraine conflict over the phone last week.

[00:03:54] The Washington Post had reported on Sunday that Trump spoke with Putin on Thursday, urging him not to escalate the situation.

[00:04:02] Kremlin spokesman told journalists that the Washington Post's report was simply false information, denying any phone call took place.

[00:04:10] The Post's report said that Trump in the call reminded Putin of Washington's sizable military foothold in Europe.

[00:04:17] Several people speaking to the US paper said Trump had expressed the desire for more conversations on the resolution of Ukraine's war soon.

[00:04:27] As the UN gears up to hold the COP29 climate conference in two weeks in Azerbaijan's Baku, it warned 2024 will be the hottest year on record.

[00:04:38] According to the international body, this year saw the average temperatures 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial era,

[00:04:46] but the vital target has not yet been breached as it refers to longer-term trends.

[00:04:52] World leaders from around 200 nations are due to take part in COP29.

[00:05:23] LDF candidate Satyan Mukheri organized a road show in Kalpata at 4pm,

[00:05:27] while BJP's Navya Haridas wrapped up her campaign at Chungam in Sultan Bhateri.

[00:05:32] In Chela Kara, Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan led the campaign efforts for LDF candidate U.R. Pradeep,

[00:05:38] attending six public meetings over the last two days.

[00:05:42] KPCC President K. Sudhagaran and leader of opposition V.D. Satishan have actively campaigned for Ramya Haridas.

[00:05:49] The NDA and its candidate K. Balakishnan are hopeful of a strong showing,

[00:05:54] building on their recent Lok Sabha win in Trishur.
