[00:01:26] Let's get into details.

[00:01:29] Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned an attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton allegedly perpetrated by Kaliistani extremists, asserting that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely.

[00:01:41] This statement followed the protest at the Hindu Sabha Mandir, where unverified social media videos reportedly showed demonstrators supporting Kalistan and engaging in violent clashes.

[00:01:52] Meanwhile, the High Commission of India in Ottawa issued a strong statement condemning the actions of anti-India elements during the disruption of a consular event at the temple, highlighting concerns for the safety of participants.

[00:02:04] This incident comes amidst strained relations between India and Canada, exacerbated by allegations made by Trudeau regarding Indian involvement in the killing of Kalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijir, which India has strongly denied.

[00:02:19] A privately operated bus plunged into a deep gorge in Uttarakhand's Almora district on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 36 passengers on board and injuring 24 others.

[00:02:30] Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Singh Dhammy reported that the 43-seater bus was carrying 60 people at the time of the incident, suggesting that overloading may have contributed to the crash.

[00:02:40] District Magistrate Allokumar Pandey stated that the bus, operated by the Garhwal Motor Owner Association, was on an overnight journey from Pauri in Garhwal region to Ramnagar in Kumaon.

[00:02:53] As the presidential election entered its final day, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris intensified efforts to mobilise supporters in what is being portrayed as a critical moment for America.

[00:03:02] The race remains incredibly close, with both candidates neck-to-neck in national polls and key battleground states.

[00:03:10] Trump, who has faced significant controversies including a felony conviction and Harris, who has risen to the top of the Democratic ticket amid turmoil, are competing to sway undecided waters.

[00:03:22] Over 77 million ballots have already been cast, highlighting unprecedented water engagement.

[00:03:28] Both campaigns are aggressively utilising social media advertising and grassroots outreach, with Harris' team optimistic about their mobilisation efforts.

[00:03:37] On the final day of campaigning, both candidates are making crucial stops in battleground states, with Pennsylvania being a major focal point, as it offers a significant number of electoral college votes essential for victory.

[00:03:51] The Election Commission of India has rescheduled the Palakkar Assembly by-poll for No. 20, moving it from the original date of No. 13 to avoid conflicting with the Kalpati Ratol-Savam, which will be held from No. 13 to No. 15 at the Sri Vishwanathaswami temple in Palakkar.

[00:04:06] In addition to Palakkar, the Commission has also shifted the dates for by-polls in 13 other Assembly seats across Punjab and Uttar Pradesh to No. 20.

[00:04:15] The Wainad Lok Sabha and Chelekara Assembly by-elections will still take place on No. 13, with results to be announced on No. 23.

[00:04:23] BJP State President K. Surentran praised the decision, noting that it would benefit over 10,000 voters.

[00:04:29] Both UDF candidate Rahul Mankutatil and LTF's Dr. P. Saran expressed their support for the rescheduling.

[00:04:36] The Supreme Court relaxed the bail conditions for journalist Siddiquh Karpun, who was arrested in October 2020 under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act while travelling to Khatraz, Uttar Pradesh, to report on the case of a Dalit woman who died after an alleged sexual assault.

[00:04:51] The court ruled that Karpun no longer needs to report to a local police station every week, modifying the original bail condition set in September 2022.

[00:05:00] While Karpun had spent nearly two years in prison, the court emphasised the importance of free expression and allowed him to challenge other conditions independently.

[00:05:09] Karpun's case, which involves allegations of links to the banned group Popular Friend of India, raised significant public interest due to the sensitive nature of the Hathras incident, including the controversial handling of the victim's last rights.
