[00:00:20] Malayalam writer, director and screenwriter MT Vasudevan Nair was cremated with state owners on Thursday.

[00:00:27] The 91-year-old passed away on Wednesday night at the Baby Memorial Hospital in Coricode.

[00:00:32] Popularly known as MT, he has left an indelible mark on the walls of novels, short stories, screenplays, children's literature, travel writing and essays.

[00:00:43] The nation honored MT with the Padma Bhushan in 2005.

[00:00:47] He has also received the Nyanpeet, Irithachan Puraskaram, Valar Award, Kendriya Sahitya Academy Award, Kerala Sahitya Academy Award, Molatwal Puraskaram and JC Daniel Puraskaram, among others.

[00:01:00] The Amatmi Party launched a scathing attack on the Congress on Thursday, accusing it of colluding with the BJP for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls to harm their prospects.

[00:01:11] Delhi Chief Minister Ati Shi and AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged at a press conference that the actions of the Congress are damaging India bloc.

[00:01:21] Singh accused Congress leaders Ajay Makan and Sandeep Deekshit of targeting the AAP instead of focusing on the BJP.

[00:01:28] Singh said Ajay Makan crossed all limits by calling Arvind Kejriwal anti-national.

[00:01:34] He added that Kejriwal was now facing an FIR while the Congress had never filed a single FIR against any BJP leader.

[00:01:43] Ati Shi echoed similar sentiments, claiming that Congress was actively undermining the AAP.

[00:01:49] Syria's new rebel-led authorities say supporters of ousted President Bashar al-Assad have killed 14 interior ministry troops in an ambush in the west of the country.

[00:01:59] They said 10 other troops were wounded in the fighting near the Mediterranean port of Tathus, a stronghold of Assad's minority-alavid Muslim sect.

[00:02:20] A dozen people have survived a crash involving a plane carrying 67 people in Kazakhstan.

[00:02:31] Azerbaijan Airlines flight J28243 caught fire as it attempted to make an emergency landing near the Kazakh city of Akhtau.

[00:02:39] The plane was en route to Russia but it was diverted due to fog as per reports.

[00:02:44] Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has been fined 20% of his match fee and awarded one demerit point in the India vs Australia 4 test in Melbourne.

[00:02:55] He was reprimanded for shoulder barging debutant Sam Konstas on Thursday.

[00:03:01] The incident happened after the completion of the 10th over of the Australian innings when the players were crossing over.

[00:03:07] Kohli and Konstas bumped shoulders while moving across the pitch.

[00:03:11] Both players quickly turned around to glance at each other and engage in a heated exchange of words with Konstas' teammate Usman Khawaja stepping in to separate them.

[00:03:21] The ICC's Code of Conduct states that any form of inappropriate physical contact is prohibited in cricket.
