[00:00:20] USS Los Angeles area is battling around five wildfires which were collectively consumed over 26,000 acres.
[00:00:28] They have destroyed more than 10,000 structures and resulted in at least 10 fatalities.
[00:00:32] A man has been detained on suspicion of starting the latest fire, though the local chief said there is no evidence the fire was started deliberately.
[00:00:41] Approximately 1,80,000 residents are under evacuation orders as firefighters work tirelessly to contain the places.
[00:00:48] High winds and dry conditions continue exacerbating the situation, challenging containment efforts.
[00:00:55] The Delhi BJP held a protest on Friday against AAP for allegedly making fake claims regarding registration of waters from UP and Bihar in the electoral rolls ahead of assembly polls.
[00:01:06] Hundreds of protesters were seen raising slogans against AAP supremo Arvind Kajriwal, with some attempting to breach the security barricade near Kajriwal's residence.
[00:01:15] The police used water cannons to prevent the protesters from breaching security.
[00:01:19] Kajriwal on Thursday accused BJP of manipulating the electoral rolls by registering fake votes from Yudhepradesh and Bihar in his constituency, New Delhi, ahead of assembly polls.
[00:01:31] In Jammu and Kashmir, the national conference government headed by Omar Abdullah would not fight the centre, said party president Farouk Abdullah.
[00:01:38] They said they would work with it to resolve the problems faced by Jammu and Kashmir, party president Farouk Abdullah asserted on Thursday.
[00:01:45] His remarks came in the backdrop of party locks by MP Agarullah's comments during a TV interview that Omar Abdullah should not distance himself from the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and should not be seen by the people as a Delhi's representative.
[00:02:00] Addressing concerns about the unity within the India bloc, Abdullah said the alliance is not just about contesting elections, but it is about strengthening India and eliminating hatred.
[00:02:09] The alliance is permanent. It is for every day and every moment, he said.
[00:02:15] The Kerala government has reinstated IAS officer K. Gopalakrishnan, who was suspended for allegedly creating a religion-based WhatsApp group of government officials.
[00:02:25] The government, however, decided to extend the suspension of IAS officer N. Prashant for 120 days more.
[00:02:31] Prashant was suspended for criticising a senior IAS officer on social media.
[00:02:35] Both officers were suspended on November 11 last year.
[00:02:38] In the order arranged, stating Gopalakrishnan, the government said that the suspension review committee reviewed his suspension and observed that there was no substantive ground necessitating the continuation of the officer under suspension.
[00:02:51] The funeral of veteran playback singer P. Jai Chandran, who passed away on Thursday, will be held on Saturday.
[00:02:58] The singer's mortal remains were brought to his ancestral home at Pungunnam at 9.30am on Friday.
[00:03:04] Later, it was moved to the Sangeeta Academy Hall, where the public paid their homage from noon.
[00:03:10] Jai Chandran passed away in Trishore on Thursday evening.
[00:03:12] He was undergoing treatment for cancer for a few years.
