[00:01:12] of interim bail, saying since Kejriwal was given liberty to move the trial code for

[00:01:19] regular bail, the plea is not maintainable.

[00:01:25] Revising its earlier estimates, the Med Department has said that a monsoon is likely

[00:01:32] to reach Kerala on Thursday.

[00:01:41] Delhi's Mungeshpur area on Wednesday allowed a maximum of 52.3 degrees Celsius, the

[00:01:47] highest ever temperature recorded in the city.

[00:01:51] On Tuesday, the weather station in the northwest Delhi locality recorded 49.9 degrees Celsius.

[00:01:58] A day later, the temperature rose further with the weather station recording a maximum

[00:02:03] temperature of 52.3 degrees Celsius at 4.14 pm, according to the website.

[00:02:10] This is the highest ever maximum temperature recorded so far in Delhi.

[00:02:17] Explaining the reason behind the rising mercury, IND regional head Kuldeep Srivastava told

[00:02:22] PTI that the city's outskirts are the first areas to be hit by hot winds from Rajasthan.

[00:02:30] He said that parts of Delhi were particularly susceptible to the early arrival of these

[00:02:35] hot winds.

[00:02:36] He said, and I quote, areas like Mungeshpur, Narela and Najafgarh are the first

[00:02:42] to experience the full force of these hot winds.

[00:02:45] End quote.

[00:02:46] However, the weatherman said that the mercury is likely to ease from Thursday over

[00:02:51] northwest and central parts of India.

[00:02:57] The death toll in multiple landslides in Misuram's Ayerswal district mounted to

[00:03:02] 29 after former bodies were recovered from various places.

[00:03:07] Seven people are still missing and rescuers presume that they are trapped under the

[00:03:12] debris at different locations following landslides and incisive rain in the aftermath

[00:03:18] of cyclone Ramal on Tuesday.

[00:03:21] A total of 25 bodies, including 14 from a stone quarry collapse site, were recovered

[00:03:27] till May 28th night.

[00:03:30] The state capital was cut off for several hours from the rest of the country on

[00:03:35] Tuesday due to the landslide on National Highway 6 at Hunthar in the western parts

[00:03:41] of the town.

[00:03:43] The road blockades were cleared in the evening and traffic movements were restored,

[00:03:48] officials said.

[00:03:53] Israeli tanks mounted raids across Ra'afah in the Fines of the World Court for a

[00:03:58] second day on Wednesday after Washington said the assault did not amount to a major

[00:04:04] ground operation in the southern Ghassan city that US officials have warned Israel

[00:04:10] to avoid.

[00:04:11] Israel sent its tanks to the heart of Ra'afah for the first time on Tuesday,

[00:04:16] despite an order from the International Court of Justice to end the attacks on

[00:04:22] the city where many Palestinians had taken refuge from the Weitzberg bombardment.

[00:04:28] The United States, Israel's closest ally, reiterated its opposition to a

[00:04:33] major Israeli ground offensive in Ra'afah but said on Tuesday that it did not

[00:04:38] believe such an operation was underway.

[00:04:42] Ra'afah residents said on Wednesday that Israeli tanks had pushed into Telal

[00:04:46] Sultan in western Ra'afah and Yibna in near Shibura at the centre before

[00:04:52] reiterating towards a buffer zone in the border with Egypt, in contrast

[00:04:58] with offensive elsewhere.

[00:05:03] The Supreme Court registry on Wednesday refused urgent listing of

[00:05:07] Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea seeking extension of his interim

[00:05:11] bail by seven days for undergoing certain medical tests.

[00:05:16] The Apex Court registry refused to accept the application, saying since

[00:05:21] Kejriwal was given liberty to move the trial court for regular bail,

[00:05:25] the plea is not maintainable.

[00:05:28] On Tuesday, a vacation bench comprising Justice J.K. Maheshwari and

[00:05:33] KV Vishwanathan took note of the submissions of senior advocate Abhishek

[00:05:37] Singhwe appearing for the Chief Minister and said the decision on

[00:05:41] listing of the interim plea can be taken by the CTI as the judgment

[00:05:47] has been reserved in the main matter.

[00:05:50] Kejriwal has sought extension of his interim bail by seven days to

[00:05:55] undergo a host of medical tests.

[00:06:01] The India Meteorological Department has forecast the arrival of the

[00:06:05] southwest monsoon in Kerala within the next 24 hours.

[00:06:10] According to reports, the monsoon's onset is attributed to various

[00:06:14] atmospheric factors including the strengthening of monsoon winds in

[00:06:19] the Arabian Sea, increased moisture content and atmospheric instability

[00:06:24] due to the rising surface temperatures.

[00:06:27] The Met Department had previously predicted the monsoon's arrival by

[00:06:32] May 31.

[00:06:33] Last year, the monsoon arrived on June 8, making this year's

[00:06:37] anticipated arrival earlier than usual.

[00:06:41] The last time the monsoon arrived in May was in 2022.
