[00:01:35] The Gujarat anti-terrorist squad on Monday nabbed four terrorists of the Islamic State

[00:01:40] from the Sardar Walifai Patel airport.

[00:01:42] The eight years in a brief note said the four accused West Sri Lankan citizens.

[00:01:48] The authorities are probing the reasons behind their presence in Ahmedabad and their

[00:01:52] intended activities.

[00:01:55] In August last year, the ATS arrested three persons from Rajkot for their alleged links

[00:02:01] to al-Qaeda.

[00:02:02] They were prime of fees working for a Bangladeshi handler to radicalise and recruit

[00:02:08] people for the banned terrorist organisation, ATS claimed.

[00:02:15] Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, the country's foreign minister and several other officials

[00:02:21] died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

[00:02:24] The crash comes as the Middle East remains unsettled by the Israel-Hamas war.

[00:02:28] During Raisi, who was 63, and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei launched an

[00:02:34] unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel just last month.

[00:02:39] During Raisi's stay in office, Iran enriched uranium closer than ever to weapons-grade

[00:02:44] levels, further escalating tensions with the West as Tehran also supplied bomb-carrying

[00:02:50] drones to Russia for its war in Ukraine and armed militia groups across the region.

[00:02:56] Meanwhile, India announced state mourning on May 21 as a mark of respect for Iranian

[00:03:02] President Ibrahim Raisi.

[00:03:15] Over 47 percent water turnout was recorded till 3pm on Monday in 49 constituencies

[00:03:21] in six states and two union territories in the fifth phase of locks-up by-elections

[00:03:26] amid spodiac incidents of violence in West Bengal and a poll boycott in a village of

[00:03:31] Uttar Pradesh.

[00:03:33] AVM glitches were also reported in some booths of Odisha and West Bengal.

[00:03:39] While Maharashtra recorded the lowest water turnout till 3pm with 38.77 percent

[00:03:46] of voters exercising their franchise, West Bengal recorded the highest voting percentage

[00:03:51] of 62.72.

[00:03:54] The poll panel said it has received 1,036 complaints from different political parties

[00:04:00] alleging AVM malfunctioning and agents being stopped for entering booths.

[00:04:06] Clashes broke out between supporters of the TMZ and BJP in Arambagh constituency.

[00:04:14] The report also reported from various parts of the Hara constituency.

[00:04:18] In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress claimed AVM malfunctioning and accused the BJP of not

[00:04:23] allowing people to cast votes in three booths in Bela Khara village in Rahi block.

[00:04:29] In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray claimed there were a lot of

[00:04:34] complaints from the electors about facilities outside polling booths.

[00:04:38] In Odisha, some unidentified persons allegedly hacked an auto rickshaw driver to death.

[00:04:44] The deceased was carrying some bottles to the polling booth.

[00:04:48] Polling for 23 states and union territories and 379 seats has been completed so far.

[00:04:57] The sixth and seventh phases are on May 25th and June 1st respectively.

[00:05:03] The counting of votes is on June 4th.

[00:05:08] The Indian Council of Medical Research criticised a recently published study on the long-term

[00:05:13] safety analysis of the Covaxin vaccine in adults and adolescents for its poor methodology

[00:05:18] and design and clarified the article misleadingly and erroneously acknowledges ICMR.

[00:05:25] ICMR said the study had no control arm of unvaccinated individuals for comparing

[00:05:31] the rates of events between the vaccinated and unvaccinated groups.

[00:05:36] Hence, the reported events in the study cannot be linked or attributed to COVID-19 vaccination.

[00:05:45] The KLA High Court on Monday upheld the lower court's order, avoiding a death sentence

[00:05:50] to Amirul Islam, the convict, in the rape and murder of a law student at Birmbourg.

[00:05:56] Rejecting the convict's appeal against capital punishment, the HC granted permission

[00:06:00] to execute the order.

[00:06:02] In the appeal moved before the High Court, Islam immigrant worker claimed that the

[00:06:07] trial court had fabricated evidence against him.

[00:06:11] But the division bench of Justice P. B. Suresh Kumar and Justice S. Manu confirmed

[00:06:16] the death penalty awarded to him after examining the scientific and circumstantial

[00:06:21] evidence including the DNA test report in the case.

[00:06:25] The law student was found dead at her one-room house in Perimbourg on April 28, 2016.

[00:06:32] According to the prosecution, Islam dispersed him to a young woman's house on the fateful

[00:06:37] day, attempted to rape her and brutally murdered her when she resisted.
