[00:01:21] In a major relief to Delhi Chief Minister Erwin Kajriwal, the Supreme Court on Friday granted
[00:01:25] him interim bail till June 1st to campaign in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
[00:01:30] A bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Dibankar Dutta said Kajriwal, arrested in a money laundering
[00:01:34] case linked to the alleged exercise policy scam, will have to surrender and go back
[00:01:38] to jail on June 2nd.
[00:01:40] Laying out the bail conditions, the bench said Kajriwal shall not visit the Chief
[00:01:44] Minister's office and Delhi Secretary during the period of bail.
[00:01:48] He is also not to make comments about his role in money laundering case related to exercise
[00:01:51] policy scam.
[00:01:53] The bench refused the request of senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Kajriwal that
[00:01:58] the interim bail be granted till June 5th.
[00:02:01] June 1st is the last day of the seven-face elections.
[00:02:03] The votes will be counted on June 4th.
[00:02:06] The apex court is hearing Kajriwal's plea challenging the Delhi High Court's verdict
[00:02:09] last month upholding his arrest in the case.
[00:02:12] The bench said arguments on Kajriwal's plea against the arrest will continue
[00:02:15] next week and it will try to pronounce the judgment on the petition before the summer
[00:02:19] vacation starting May 20th.
[00:02:21] The matter relates to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and
[00:02:24] execution of the Delhi government's now-scrapped exercise policy for 2021-22.
[00:02:33] Air India Express on Friday cancelled around 75 flights due to cabin crew shortage
[00:02:37] and operations are expected to normalize by Sunday.
[00:02:39] An official said a day after a section of the cabin crew called off their strike
[00:02:43] that had resulted in significant operational disruptions.
[00:02:47] The revenue losses caused due to the flight cancellations and compensation to passengers
[00:02:50] are anticipated to be around Rs 30 crore according to an official.
[00:02:55] The strike by a section of the cabin crew since Tuesday night that resulted in cancellation
[00:02:58] of more than 170 flights was called off on Thursday evening and the airline also withdrew
[00:03:03] termination letters issued to 25 striking cabin crew.
[00:03:07] The Tata Group airline which operates around 380 flights daily has curtailed operations
[00:03:12] in the wake of the strike as part of efforts to minimize disruptions.
[00:03:17] The carrier has cancelled more than 260 flights.
[00:03:21] Another official said the cabin crew who were on strike are joining back and the airline is
[00:03:25] extending support to them for medical check-up and securing fitness certificate which is
[00:03:29] required before they can resume duty.
[00:03:34] Congress leader Manishankar Aayur's remarks on Pakistan's Park dot-o on Friday with
[00:03:38] his party quick to dissociate itself from the comments while the BGP latched onto
[00:03:42] them accusing the party of being an apologist for Pakistan and the terrorism emanating
[00:03:46] from its soil.
[00:03:48] Aayur said the video was old and dredged up now as the BGP's election campaign is faltering.
[00:03:53] In comments which have gone viral on social media, Aayur has heard saying that India
[00:03:56] should give respect to Pakistan as it is a sovereign nation and engaged with it as
[00:04:01] it also possesses an atom bomb.
[00:04:03] He indicated in the video that if a mad person comes to power there and uses the
[00:04:07] atom bomb it will not be good and will have its effect on India too.
[00:04:11] As the remarks triggered a row, the Congress said it totally disagrees with the remarks
[00:04:15] made by Aayur some months ago.
[00:04:17] This incident comes a couple of days after Congress leader Sam Prithoda landed the
[00:04:21] party in trouble with his racist comments.
[00:04:26] Dwindling foot and fuel stocks could force aid operations to grind to a halt within
[00:04:30] days in Gaza as vital crossings remain shut, forcing hospitals to close down and
[00:04:34] leading to more malnutrition United Nations aid agencies warned on Friday.
[00:04:39] Humanitarian workers have sounded the alarm this week over the closure of the
[00:04:42] Rafa and Kerem Shalom crossings for aid and people as part of Israel's

[00:05:26] Analysis during the meeting pointed to a decrease in evening peak card
[00:05:29] consumption by 117 megawatts, diminishing the necessity for sector
[00:05:33] wise power regulation.
[00:05:35] This reduction in power demand was attributed to the onset of summer
[00:05:37] rains, significantly alleviating the state's power requirements.
