[00:00:35] Forest fires in Uttarakhand became more severe on Friday with the flames reaching

[00:00:38] the High Court colony in Nainital.

[00:00:41] Many persons were arrested in Rudraprayag on Friday while trying to set fire to the forests.

[00:00:48] Two CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured as militants allegedly attacked a camp

[00:00:52] of security forces in Manipur's Bishnupur district in the early hours of Saturday.

[00:01:37] his cousin and senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi at Raibereli in Uttar Pradesh despite

[00:01:42] personal requests from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders.

[00:01:47] According to reports, Varun told Modi directly that elections were not a political comedy

[00:01:51] or circus.

[00:01:52] Congress President Malligarj and Kargyan Saturday said that the names of party

[00:01:56] candidates for the Amethi and Raibereli seats in Uttar Pradesh will be announced

[00:02:00] in a few days.

[00:02:01] Addressing a press conference, he claimed that though the BJP says the corrupt

[00:02:05] must be put in jail when leaders facing corruption charges join the saffron party, they are put

[00:02:09] on the lap and sent to Rajasabha or assembly.

[00:02:14] Forest fires in Uttarakhand became more severe on Friday with the flames reaching the High

[00:02:17] Court colony in Nainital.

[00:02:19] Three persons were arrested in Ruddhupriya on Friday while crimes set fire to the

[00:02:24] forests.

[00:02:25] In the last 24 hours, 31 new incidents of forest fire were reported from various parts

[00:02:29] of the state destroying 33.34 hectares of forest land.

[00:02:34] Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Thami has asked the officials to remain on alert and

[00:02:38] take measures to prevent the fires by coordinating with all departments.

[00:02:43] The fire that broke out in the forest near Nainital district headquarters took a horrific

[00:02:46] form, posing a threat to the residents of High Court colony located in the Pines area.

[00:02:52] It also affected the traffic movement in the area.

[00:02:54] Two CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured as militants allegedly

[00:03:00] attacked a camp of security forces in Manipur's Bishnupur district in the

[00:03:04] early hours of Saturday, police said.

[00:03:07] The militants attacked India Reserve Battalion Camp in the Moirang Police Station area, they

[00:03:11] said.

[00:03:12] The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops targeting the camp.

[00:03:16] It started around 12.30 am and continued till about 2.15 am.

[00:03:21] The militants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF's 128

[00:03:26] battalion, a senior police officer said.

[00:03:28] They were seized for identified as CRPF sub-inspector N. Sarkar and head constable

[00:03:33] Arup Saini, he said.

[00:03:35] The injured were inspected Jadav Das and constable Aftab Das, he said, adding that they received

[00:03:39] splinter wounds.

[00:03:42] Despite heightened political fervour and anticipation about the general elections for

[00:03:46] the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, the process concluded on Friday with a notable

[00:03:51] decrease in voter turnout.

[00:03:53] The latest figures show a significant drop from the 77.84% polling rate of 2019

[00:03:58] election down to 71.16%, a 6.68% points reduction.

[00:04:04] Patanam Theta witnessed the most substantial decline of the 10.94% decrease in

[00:04:08] elective participation.

[00:04:09] Several factors including the escalating temperature, which soared above 40

[00:04:13] degrees Celsius, have contributed to the lower turnout.

[00:04:16] Economic challenges have had an impact on both campaigning and voter

[00:04:20] participation.

[00:04:21] Additionally, a trend of migration for employment and educational opportunities,

[00:04:25] in particular from the districts of Ernakulam, Idkik, Kotaim and Patanam Theta,

[00:04:29] is also a contributing factor.

[00:04:33] Former Chharkan Chief Minister Hemant Sureen was on Saturday denied interim

[00:04:36] bail by a special prevention of money laundering act court in Ranchi in a

[00:04:40] Lank scam case.

[00:04:42] Sureen had requested a 13-day interim bail from the court to attend the

[00:04:45] funeral of his uncle Rajaram Sureen who passed away earlier today.

[00:04:50] Rajaram Sureen was the elder brother of Chharkan Mukti Mocha Chief Shibu Sureen.

[00:04:54] Hemant Sureen had filed a plea with the Supreme Court seeking relief in a

[00:04:58] money laundering case.

[00:04:59] Senior advocate, Kapil Sibu representing Hemant Sureen brought up his plea

[00:05:03] challenging his arrest before a bench led by Justice Sanjeev Khanna.

[00:05:07] Hemant Sureen was apprehended by the Director of Enforcement in the

[00:05:10] Lank scam case in January this year.
