[00:01:05] special interring bail for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in judicial custody due

[00:01:09] to a money laundering case linked to alleged excise scam.

[00:01:13] The court also imposed a final Rs 75,000 on the petitioner.

[00:01:19] UDF candidate and Congress Leader Shafi Parambil has sent a legal notice to KK Shailaja, the

[00:01:25] LDF candidate for trying to tarnish his name.

[00:01:28] Let's get into the details.

[00:01:32] Though opposition criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for suggesting that if the

[00:01:36] Congress were to win, they would redistribute the nation's wealth to families with more

[00:01:39] children.

[00:01:40] Speaking at a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara, PM Modi criticised the Congress for its

[00:01:44] wealth distribution proposal, alleging it would benefit infiltrators and families with

[00:01:49] more children.

[00:01:50] The Congress hid back and accused PM Modi of lying and creating a divide between Hindus

[00:01:54] and Muslims.

[00:01:55] The party rejected the Prime Minister's claims and said they manifesto had no such promise.

[00:02:01] In response to the Prime Minister's statement, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi said that the

[00:02:05] Prime Minister was trying to distract the public from several press issues.

[00:02:09] Additionally, senior Congress Leader Jairam Ramesh criticised PM Modi for employing

[00:02:13] hateful language and raised questions about the delay in conducting the census, which was

[00:02:17] last conducted in 2011 and was expected in 2021.

[00:02:21] However, a Commission spokesperson said the panel would not comment on the Prime Minister's

[00:02:25] controversial comment.

[00:02:29] Election Commission of India has ordered repolling in eight polling stations in

[00:02:33] Arunachal Pradesh where EVM damage and violence were reported during polling to

[00:02:37] simultaneous Lok Sabha and Asim Ali polls on April 19th, an official said.

[00:02:41] The commission in an order on Sunday declared the polling in the eight polling stations,

[00:02:45] as void, and ordered fresh polling on April 24th from 6am to 2pm Deputy Chief Electoral

[00:02:50] Officer Likain Koyuset.

[00:02:53] An estimated 76.44% of the total 8,92,694 voters exercised their franchise on April 19th

[00:03:01] to elect 50 MLAs for the 60-member assembly in the northeastern state.

[00:03:05] The ruling BJP had already won 10 assembly seats on the post.

[00:03:12] Maldives President Mohamed Musso's party won control of parliament in a Sunday election landslide,

[00:03:17] results showed with voters backing his still towards China and away from regional powerhouse

[00:03:21] and traditional benefactor India.

[00:03:23] Musso's People National Congress had secured more than two-thirds of the 93-member parliament

[00:03:28] according to provincial results from the election commission of Maldives.

[00:03:32] The PNC had secured 66 out of 86 declared, already more than enough for a supermajority.

[00:03:37] The formal ratification of results is expected to take a week and the new assembly is set

[00:03:41] to be in office from early May.

[00:03:44] The vote was seen as a crucial test for Musso's plan to press ahead with close economic

[00:03:48] cooperation with China, including building thousands of apartments on controversially

[00:03:51] reclaimed land.

[00:03:52] The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed Rs 75,000, a public interest litigation

[00:04:01] seeking extraordinary interim bail for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in judicial

[00:04:05] custody in relation to a money laundering case stemming from the alleged excise scam.

[00:04:09] A bench headed by acting Chief Justice Manmohan remarked that the petition was totally

[00:04:13] misconceived and the court cannot grant extraordinary interim bail to a person holding a high office.

[00:04:19] The court remarked that the ARP leader has the means to take steps to avail his

[00:04:23] legal remedies and the petitioner holds no power to attorney to make submissions

[00:04:26] on his behalf.

[00:04:28] The court emphasised that the concept of equality and rule of law were enshrined in the

[00:04:31] constitution and Kejriwal was in judicial custody, pursuant to judicial orders which were not challenged.

[00:04:40] There seems to be no end to the series of complaints and cases over the cyber

[00:04:44] attack against the two main candidates in the Vada Gara Lok Sabha election.

[00:04:48] The latest in Salvo was fired by UDF candidate and Congress leader Shafi Parambil

[00:04:52] when he filed a case against his opponent KK Shailaja, the LDF candidate for tarnishing

[00:04:56] his name. The Congress leader has sent a legal notice to the CPM leader in this regard.

[00:05:02] Shafi claimed that by naming him as the source of the obscene videos,

[00:05:06] the LDF candidate has tried to demean him in public.

[00:05:09] There was a complaint that obscene videos were shared on social media and that I was

[00:05:13] behind the malicious campaign. Neither my party workers nor I have seen such a

[00:05:17] moffed or obscene video. It was an attempt to tarnish my image in the name of a video

[00:05:22] which does not exist. Shafi said.

[00:05:27] That brings us to the end of this episode.
