[00:00:20] Telugu actor Allu Arjun was grilled by police for over 3 hours on Tuesday in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad on Dec 4.

[00:00:31] Meanwhile, the film's producers handed over Rs 50 lakh cheques to the victim's family today.

[00:00:39] Israel's defence minister confirmed they assassinated Hamas's top leader Ismail Haniyeh last summer.

[00:00:45] He also threatened to take similar action against the leadership of the Houthi rebel group in Yemen.

[00:00:51] Haniyeh died in an explosion in Iran in July.

[00:00:54] In Syria, hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets in Christian areas of Damascus early on Tuesday to protest against the burning of a Christmas tree.

[00:01:04] The incident occurred near Hama in central Syria, as per reports.

[00:01:09] The protests erupted after a video spread on social media showing hooded fighters setting fire to the tree in a Christian-majority town.

[00:01:18] Veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal, the pioneer of the parallel cinema movement in Indian cinema, was cremated on Tuesday with full state honours and a three-gun salute.

[00:01:29] Benegal, known for films such as Ankur, Nishant and Junoon, died in Mumbai due to chronic kidney disease.

[00:01:36] His last rites were held around 3pm at Dadar's Shivaji Park crematorium.

[00:01:43] Kerala Chief Minister Pinaray Vijayan on Tuesday strongly condemned the alleged disruption of Christmas celebrations at a school by local activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

[00:01:53] He urged everyone to unite against communal forces in the state.

[00:01:58] Vijayan stated that people must stand together against those cultureless individuals who have become an insult to Kerala and its people.
