[00:01:39] Association for Democratic Reforms reveals that of the 8,337 candidates in the fray,

[00:01:47] 644 have criminal cases registered against them.

[00:01:52] Among the major political parties, the ruling Bharatiya Senadar Party stands out as it

[00:01:57] has fielded the most number of candidates facing criminal charges.

[00:02:02] A staggering 41.5% of BJP's candidates, 183 out of 440 have criminal cases against

[00:02:09] them.

[00:02:10] In comparison, 39.75% of Congress candidates have similar charges.

[00:02:17] Other notable parties with candidates facing criminal cases include the Samajwadi Party,

[00:02:23] 39 candidates, BSP 24 candidates, Trinamore Congress 19 candidates and CPM 19 candidates.

[00:02:32] Pune caught on Saturday romantic the grandfather of the journal involved in the Porsche

[00:02:37] crash in police custody till May 28.

[00:02:41] Police arrested the grandfather for alleged wrongful confinement of the driver and

[00:02:45] to claim that he was driving the car at the time of the accident on May 19, police said.

[00:02:52] The police said that the father and grandfather of the 17-year-old minor offered cash and

[00:02:57] gift to the family driver and later threatened him to take the blame for the accident.

[00:03:03] According to Cops, the driver and his family will be given police protection.

[00:03:08] After the accident, the driver gave a statement at the police station that he

[00:03:12] was at the wheel when the accident took place, but it was revealed that a teen was

[00:03:17] driving the car, police added.

[00:03:19] The Porsche, allegedly driven by the teenager, who the police claim was drunk at that time,

[00:03:25] killed two motorbike-born software engineers in the Kalyaninagar area of the city in

[00:03:29] the early hours of Sunday, May 19.

[00:03:35] Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday vowed to thwart alleged attempts to

[00:03:38] rob Dalit and backward classes of reservations by the Interbloc, which he accused of

[00:03:43] end slavment and performing musraaf for the Muslim World Bank.

[00:03:47] Addressing back-to-back rallies in Bihar, the Prime Minister also charged the opposition

[00:03:52] coalition with indulging in scaremongering and claimed that he had been working without

[00:03:57] fear to wipe out terrorism and root out corruption.

[00:04:01] Modi claimed that the opposition alliance has decided that if they are voted to power,

[00:04:06] the first thing they would do is to change the constitution so that even the court

[00:04:10] is unable to overrule their attempts to divert reservations to Muslims.

[00:04:17] Sixth phase of the general election was held today with 58 constituencies in six states

[00:04:23] and two union territories going to polls.

[00:04:26] In the national capital, President Draupadi Murmur, Union Ministers S.J.Shankar and

[00:04:30] Hardeep Singh Puri, Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal, Delhi Minister Adish Shri,

[00:04:35] Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and outgoing East Delhi MP Gautam

[00:04:40] Gandhi were among those who cast their votes.

[00:04:43] Voting began at 7 a.m. and people were seen queuing up at polling stations.

[00:04:48] Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kejriwal and Congress President Mallikarjun Kargi urged

[00:04:54] voters to exercise their right to franchise in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha

[00:04:59] elections in large numbers.

[00:05:01] 11.13 crore voters, 5.84 crore male, 5.29 crore female and 5,120 third gender are

[00:05:11] eligible to exercise their franchise in the sixth phase.

[00:05:15] The EC has deployed around 11.4 lakh polling officials at 1.14 lakh polling stations.

[00:05:25] A special team of the crime branch led by DYSP Binnu Kumar will probe into the alleged

[00:05:30] bar bribery allegations in the state. Manorama News reported that the crime

[00:05:34] branch would carry out a preliminary investigation without registering a case.

[00:05:39] The alleged bar bribery row made headlines after an audio clip,

[00:05:43] reportedly of a bar association member allegedly asking other members to pay

[00:05:47] money for a favourable liquor policy, was aired on TV channels.

[00:05:52] The audio clip triggered a political storm in the state as reports claimed that the

[00:05:56] Kerala government was planning to withdraw the dry day norm.

[00:05:59] In the leaked message, Ani Mohan, the president of the Idugi district chapter, is heard demanding

[00:06:05] Rs 2.5 lakh from each member. The probe team is expected to interrogate

[00:06:10] Ani Mohan to clarify the allegations.
