Rhea sits down with Sanjeev Kumar Munjal of Dorset to talk about evolving consumer needs, innovating and their focus on Make in India.
[00:00:06] Hello and welcome back to the CREDAI MCHI Grand Property Expo. Today we have with us Sanjeev Kumar Munjal, the senior executive DGM of Dorset. Sanjeev, welcome to the podcast. Thank you so much for being with us here today.
[00:00:19] So to begin with, can you tell us a little bit more about Dorset? I will tell you about Dorset first. Actually Dorset is basically two and a half decades old organization and it's totally make in India concept which we follow
[00:00:30] and the total production unit which we have is the South Asia largest manufacturing unit which we have in this industry.
[00:00:38] And with that we have all the technology lined up within the organizations and with a set up of more than you can have with a unit of hours is two lakhs square feet area which we have.
[00:00:48] It's the largest in our industry and we also based on from the Gurgaon which is basically in Haryana and we do all the production over there and we have our corporate office also over there.
[00:00:59] So if you speak about any builders who will say that yes this is our premium customer and we are there and the retention over clientage is approximately 99%.
[00:01:08] That's great. And you know at this expo you have the opportunity to interact directly with the consumer right? I would think that's a different thing here. Yes it's a wonderful opportunity which we grab over here to understand the need of the customer and giving them the better solutions.
[00:01:23] So if you go to our tagline also over organization, Dorset we understand. So we are here to understand the right solution what is required.
[00:01:31] Great and you know it's talking about understanding the consumer. We've seen a lot of changes in the pandemic era and also now in the post pandemic era. So how do you think the consumer needs have changed and how has Dorset evolved in relation to that?
[00:01:44] Dorset is always known for the innovations. So we always innovate different things, different products all together for our consumers.
[00:01:52] Before and after there are a lot of changes in the technology front if you speak about for the main door concept so people have started looking for the digital solution.
[00:02:00] So Dorset is there for the digital solution now with the entire setup for the product line which is required for the current scenario. So we are there for that. I will say that Dorset is always there for the innovation.
[00:02:12] Great and you know when I was learning more about your brand I also noticed that you'll have a big focus on make in India and vocal for local. Can you speak a little bit more to that?
[00:02:21] Its motto basically comes from our CMD Mr Rajesh Kumar Bansal who is the founder of this organization and we treat him as a father figure for the organization for me also.
[00:02:34] He is always a well-wisher and always motivate us and he always think about that innovation lies in the blood of the Indians.
[00:02:42] Its better to get any product from overseas, its better to produce here. So it gives us a good growth to the economy also and the employment also. Yeah great and you know I wanted to go back a little bit to what you spoke about technology.
[00:02:55] Today now Dorset has you know the state of the art like digital law range of great offerings for consumers. So can you talk a little bit more about the role that technology has played in your product?
[00:03:05] See if we speak about technology the first thing which comes is the designing part of those things. So we have our in-house design team who do all the designing for us.
[00:03:14] So that designing is the most essential things. Then we make the product in such a way that in our factory if you go to we have the world class automatic plating plant which nobody have in this industry itself.
[00:03:26] So we have that technology with us and our plant is zero water disposable plant. So these are the different features which we have in the plant which gives a uniqueness to our brand and uniqueness to our product. So you would say sustainability also plays a big role?
[00:03:40] Yes sustainability we are working on the solar energies also so that is also we are giving something to the environment. So that is also there. So we work on the very different parameters all together.
[00:03:51] We work on the environment friendly atmosphere so that everybody work in a good atmosphere. One more question before we wrap up for today. A lot of the visitors to the expo will also be listening to this podcast.
