In this episode Rhea sits down with Mustakim Khan, regional manager of Deceuninck India, one of the sponsors of the CREDAI MCHI Grand Property Expo to learn about their offerings at the expo and their outlook for the Indian market.
[00:00:06] Hello and welcome back to the CREDAI MCHI Grand Property Expo Podcast. I'm Riya and in this episode we have with us Mr. Mustakim Khan, the Regional Manager of Deceuninck. Hi, thank you so much for inviting me on the podcast.
[00:00:20] Of course, of course. So Mustakim, why don't we begin by you telling us a little bit about Deceuninck and the role of the brand in the real estate industry today? Okay, so for Deceuninck it is a Belgium Barits brand. It is a leading manufacturer of UPVC profiles.
[00:00:35] We started in 1937 as a true compound technology for the design development and recycling for the construction industry. Okay, we are there in the market from past 85 years. We are building sustainable homes through that. Also, like we are there in India from operational successfully in past 15 years
[00:00:54] and we have completed more than 100 plus projects in India. Great, great. So you mentioned Deceuninck has been in India for the past 15 years. What are some of the challenges that the brand has seen in India and how have you adapted to the Indian consumer?
[00:01:07] See, first of all when you come to Indian market, Indian market is very price sensitive market and you come as another material of UPVC. So it is a very new material to the Indian consumer. Now everybody has used aluminium windows and they have used very local profiles.
[00:01:23] Even if it comes to the aluminium system also they were not accepting the tested system. Whenever we are coming, it is difficult to educate the Indian market and consumer and then sell your product. Absolutely. But you mentioned that sustainability plays a big role in your products.
[00:01:39] Our motto is that we design sustainable homes. So our profiles are 100% recyclable and the energy consumed for the manufacturing of profile is very less compared to any other material used for the windows.
[00:01:50] And we have a lifespan of one material. When it is manufactured it has the lifespan of 150 plus years. So it helps in the environment also to reduce the CO2 consumption.
[00:01:59] And as a company, as the world is going by net zero thing, as a company and a group we are trying to be net zero by 2030. In the manufacturing part itself.
[00:02:09] Yeah that's fantastic. And I think that something that would also be an aim for you all to make visitors who at MCHI aware about this. See, the reason for participating in MCHI expo is that to connect on an end customer on a personal level business.
[00:02:24] Okay, our major chunk of business is from the B2B industry. We promote our product into the developer fatality. But it is always used by the end consumer. So we wanted to connect with them on a personal level, make them aware about our product
[00:02:38] and how can they benefit and make informed decisions in the future. Also how it can help them to save the cost while running it for the sustainable part of 25 plus years. Absolutely. And you know to that effect when visitors come to the Deccanix stall here.
[00:02:53] What can they expect? What would you like to convey to them? See, first of all we would like to educate them about the material what they are going to use in their home and what is already there in their home.
[00:03:03] People now, they will not able to understand the technical abilities of it but they can definitely understand the energy consumption and the sound insulation benefit they are getting from the windows.
[00:03:13] So whenever the end consumer is using it they can get the benefit how the energies will be saved and the environment will be saved. Also how they can reduce the consumption of AC which will save their cost. Basically everybody thinks of the cost part.
[00:03:24] Absolutely. And you know tell us how has it been going so far at the Exo for y'all? It's been a fantastic journey to connect with the end customer. It's been I guess first of a kind of exhibition for us as a company
[00:03:37] to connect on an end customer. Generally we are getting connected with developers or architects. But this is the first of a kind to connect with end customer and it's been their question, their requirement
[00:03:46] how they want to see the product, what kind of improvement they would like to see. It's a very broad level and understanding which will help us to deliver the better products in the near future.
[00:03:56] Absolutely. And just a couple more questions. You know compared to other Exos right? Is this the techniques first time here? For the property Expo it is first time. We have been associated with the Credit MCH from past 5 plus years
[00:04:11] and we have delivered more than many projects along with Credit MCH in MMR region. And we have achieved many milestones together. And Credit A has arranged a fantastic Expo for the visitors also and for the developer fraternity. It's been spread out in lakhs per meter.
[00:04:26] And somebody is expected like it's a dream home, dream thing to buy a home and anything. So they can expect and they can visit and see all properties which is going to be
[00:04:35] what out in the next few years of Mumbai they can see here and they can experience that at one place. Absolutely. So well we have been asking everyone this today. So I wanted to just ask you, what a personal note.
[00:04:47] Why don't you tell us a little bit about your dream home? My dream home. See for my dream home everything I would like it is to be a comfortable and sustainable yet because our future is completely trying to change the climate whatever we may. Yeah.
[00:05:03] So my home should not produce Admer CO2. It should consume less amount of CO2 even like help the environment as well as me to have the healthier life inside of it. Absolutely. Because home is something where we live to and we feel safe to.
[00:05:17] Absolutely and I think like you said this is a great opportunity for you to communicate this with the visitors here on a personal level. So to all our listeners please make sure to check out the Deccanix stall
[00:05:28] and thank you so much for being here with us on the podcast. Thank you for inviting me. Thank you so much.
