Design architect at Defining spaces Kaushik Patel talks to Akhil about the Expo and what it can do for consumers, realtors and architects alike.

[00:00:22] Would you mind telling us a little bit about yourself and what you do? Thank you for having me first and my name is Kaushik Patel I am a design architect so we work as Kaushik Patel Architects And we are design architects for various kind of projects in Mumbai
[00:00:38] We design exterior of buildings, design interiors of projects, exteriors And we work all over Bombay so this is what we do Our forte main is to design buildings That sounds great. Thank you so much So tell us about your experience here at this expo, what sets it apart
[00:00:57] Any exhibitions that stood out like that you thought were doing a good job and why? My experience at this expo has been really good What I felt about this expo being different from the other expos that I visited earlier
[00:01:11] Is that you know this is a very fresh and newly designed expo In which as an architect I feel we have a lot of open spaces, a lot of seating areas And a lot of vision all over the place
[00:01:27] So you know this is relaxing at one end and also is very informative at the other end So I feel you know this expo has been very newly designed and very well done So in your opinion what are three facilities that every realtor should provide their consumers with?
[00:01:44] First of all the basic facility and the amenity that they should provide is good housing Or good space whatever they are giving to the customer Be it a residential space, be it an office space, the space has to be very well designed
[00:01:59] So that is the primary thing that they should be giving to the customer Secondary thing that comes with the space is the lifestyle So whenever you know they are buying the space The lifestyle also should be an additional amenity that goes with the space
[00:02:16] And they should have a holistic lifestyle, be it any kind of building And the third thing is of course at an affordable price
[00:02:25] So as an architect can you tell us a little bit in particular what people of your profession might take away from an expo like this one? What does it provide? There are a lot of take-aways because when we come to such an expo
[00:02:37] We see a lot of different kind of buildings, a lot of different kind of projects So there is a lot of learning and not specific something But you know there is a vision that opens up still to go further
[00:02:51] And you know challenge ourselves for the buildings that we design in the future So this is a big take-away that we can say for ourselves Would you prefer to buy a property as an investment or buy it for life?
[00:03:05] I think you know presently the prices of properties are very stable So if you look at them as a perspective of investment then I don't think it makes a lot of sense But one should always have a property which you know they can have it for life
[00:03:22] So can you tell us a little bit from your perspective as an architect How consumer preferences have changed over the years and recent times? The consumers have now become very conscious of what they are wanting and what they are buying
[00:03:36] So the preferences have not changed over a period of time They have just changed over a year or two post-COVID A lot of preferences have changed So we are evolving you know our designs based on those preferences
[00:03:48] And also we are looking at the future, the preferences that will be required for the future and designing accordingly So there are a lot of changes that have happened post-COVID Great thank you so much So it's been great having you on the show
[00:04:01] Before I let you go there is one more quick personal question that I would like to ask you Sure What would your dream home look like? In terms of space it would be you know I would want it to be very spacious
[00:04:13] In terms of design I would really want it to be very simple So these are the two basic things that my dream home would want I would want to be Thank you so much for joining us so it's been great having you
