Vidarbha have conventionally been considered as also-rans in Indian domestic cricket. But with combination of a visionary administrative set-up and outstation coaches and players gelling together with local talent, the tide has turned over the last decade. It cultimated in the Nagpur-based team lifting its maiden Ranji Trophy crown in 2017-18.
