#008 - Bharatvaarta | India's Economic Growth - leveraging debt, building production capabilities, urbanizing villages, reviving Dharma, and more | Harsh Gupta | Sridhar Vembu | #PurvaPaksha

Namaste!

In the first of our #PurvaPaksha series, we bring together two eminent personalities – Harsh Gupta and Sridhar Vembu, to speak about India’s Economic growth.

Harsh is an Investor and Author. He has a deep understanding of Politics, Governance, and Culture that grounds his views on Economics in reality. He believes that India is underleveraged on our debt and that it is critical to our growth – that "we cannot wait for people to buy things cash down to fuel growth.”

Sridhar is one of India’s best-known technology entrepreneurs and is an original thinker on a variety of topics ranging from technology and business to science and culture. He believes India should focus on production capabilities instead and the debt-fuelled consumption mode of growth would be a “recipe for disaster.”

In this episode of Bharatvaarta, Harsh and Sridhar speak about, why they are optimistic about India's Economy, key policy measures that can spur growth, making our villages self-sustaining, reviving the Dharmic basis for prosperity, among other things.

It was a fascinating experience listening to the two of them approach ideas from different perspectives. If you love longform conversation, you’re in for a treat! You can listen to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Pocketcasts and more.
