Florence Ezekiel, known professionally as Nadira, was originally from Iran. She acted in films from the 1950s and 1960s, including Aan (1952), Shree 420 (1955), Pakeezah (1972), and Julie (1975), which won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award, and Josh (2000). Her song "Mud mud ke na dekh mud mud ke..." in Shree420 continues to be popular even now, and would any Hindi movie buff ever forget "Ajeeb dastaan hai yeh..." from Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, picturized on Nadira, Raaj Kumar and Meena Kumari. She was mostly know for her Vamp roles. She also acted in some television serials like Thoda Sa Aasmaan. She died on 9 February 2006 after prolonged illness.
