अमोल पालेकर हे नाव ऐकलं की डोळ्यासमोर येतो एक साधा सरळमार्गी निरागस तरुण. राजनीगंधा चित्रपटाने त्यांची अशी करून दिलेली ओळख ना त्यांना पुसून टाकायला जमली ना आपण विसरू शकलो. मुंबईत जन्मलेला आणि मध्यमवर्गीय मराठी कुटुंबात वाढलेल्या अमोल ने जे जे स्कूल ऑफ आर्ट्स मध्ये शिक्षण घेतल. लहानपणी त्यांच्या घरी येणार्या नाट्यक्षेत्रातल्या नामवंत नटांच्या प्रभावने, अमोल ने अभिनयाचे धडे घ्यायला सुरुवात केली. हिन्दी नाटकांपासून सुरुवात करून चित्रपट सृष्टीत प्रवेश केला. चितचोर, राजनीगंधा, घरोन्दा, छोटीसी बात व थोडासा रुमानी हो जाय सारख्या एकपेक्षा एक सरस सिनेमात तो गाजला. गोलमाल साठी फिल्म फेयर चा बेस्ट अॅक्टर चा आवार्ड त्यांनी पटकावला. निर्माता आणि दिग्दर्शक म्हणून अनेक हिन्दी दूरदर्शन मालिकांची निर्मिती त्यांनी केली.

Amol graduated from J. J. School of arts. In childhood, he was influenced by many well known stage actors visiting his home. He then started taking lessons of acting. Started his career with acting in Hindi stage plays and then entered in to movie world. Chitchor, Rajanigandha, Gharonda, Chooti si baat and Thodasa rumani ho jaye were his most popular movies. For his role in Golmaal, he received the film fare’s best actor award. Amol directed and produced several Hindi TV serials.
