Ayaz Memon

Ayaz Memon has been a journalist for over 43 years. A graduate in economics and law from Mumbai University, he chose sports journalism as his calling and went on to become sports editor of the Independent and Times of India at various times. He has also edited newspapers like Mid-Day, Bombay Times and DNA.
A columnist now, he writes on sport, politics, cinema and social issues in Hindustan Times, the Times of India, Dainik Bhaskar, Mint.
Ayaz has covered over 250 Test and 350 ODI matches, 9 cricket World Cups, the1988 and 2012 Olympics, 1998 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, 1982 and 1990 Asian Games, 1990 Hockey World Cup, 2006 Football World Cup and has also been a commentator on cricket at various times with Star Sports and Sony.
He has authored three books on cricket and co-authored one on 50 years of India.
