Learn to be Yourself as a Creator | Megha Rao | Varun Duggi | Take aPause

In this episode of Take aPause, Varun and Megha Rao discuss the need to take a step back from the digital world and learn to be more present in the real world. Megha speaks of the dangers of getting trapped by the need for external validation and how she learned to find her own unique voice. She shares her struggles of sharing the personal with the public and the importance of NOMO (Necessity of Missing Out).

Also catch Varun and Megha discuss her process as an artist and her sources of inspiration for her writing. She speaks about her poetry being more than a creative expression but also a safe space. When asked about inspiring artists and their legacy, she mentions Frieda Kahlo but also cautions against the dangers of the artist becoming bigger than their art.

Megha Rao is a performance poet and surrealist artist from Kerala. Megha is a postgraduate in English Literature from the University of Nottingham, UK, and when she's not writing, she facilitates workshops for young poets. Megha's work has been featured on platforms such as Penguin Random House India, Firstpost, The Open Road Review, New Asian Writing, and The Alipore Post.
