But in spite of being such a crucial part of India, just like the northeast, the govt of India has barely done anything to empower these islands and to use them to gain geopolitical advantage!! However, in 2015, the govt came out with a grand announcement to invest 10,000Cr into transforming the Andaman and Nicobar islands. This is expected to turn them into an economic engine as well as a critical military touchpoint!! and if executed as stated, it will be a historic upgrade in the Geopolitical power of India!!
