The ad promised him an American Express credit card. After he applied, a so-called “bank representative” called him and convinced him to download a mobile app for verification.
That’s when the real trap began. The app secretly accessed his phone gallery, pulled out his credit card details, and within hours, ₹1.95 lakh vanished from his Kotak card and ₹1.49 lakh from his ICICI card.
All from one fake ad.
