Lenskart at ₹67,000 Cr: What Pre-IPO Secondaries Signal | Decoding Exits | October Edition

October 2025 Secondary Digest: Lenskart pre-IPO ₹190 crore secondary

In this month “Decoding Exits” series, Karthik highlights the secondaries that took place in the month of October. From Lenskart’s pre‑IPO secondary to Zepto bolstering its quick‑commerce war chest, October’s secondaries showed the full spectrum of liquidity on the path to public.

Here are the key deal insights:

Lenskart’s pre-IPO secondary
Radhakishan Damani (founder of DMart) and SBI MF secured a secondary deal for ₹190 crore bought at the upper band of a ₹67,000-crore market cap. Thats approximately a 50% premium versus ADIA’s earlier entry (~2 years ago) near a ₹42,000 crore market cap.

Zepto’s war chest grows
In their latest $450 million round, most capital went to primary to expand into higher-ticket categories and push toward profitability. About $70–100 million of the entire round was secondaries. According to Zepto’s own press release, their war chest is ~$900 million, fuel that is critical to win the heated quick commerce battle in India.

PhonePe’s ₹5,000 crore employee liquidity lock-in pre-IPO
General Atlantic’s $600 million secondary in Phonepe sets a valuation benchmark around $14.5 billion while doubling its stake to ~9%. Structured around option exercises, the move pre-empts post-IPO churn and consolidates price discovery ahead of listing.

Profitable Porter readies IPO with investor liquidity
With profitability and a decade of execution, a $120–150 million secondary from a $200 million round enabled partial exits for Kae, Lightrock, and Peak XV. Primary capital supports intercity MSME logistics, P2P parcels, and tech/ops scale-up.

Kuku FM scales with primary-secondary mix
In a $85 million round at a ~$500–550 million valuation — $50 million was assorted as primary while $35 million was secondary. Kuku FM wants to fund AI/data infrastructure, bring celebrities and creators, build more original IP, and scale their vernacular audio vertical micro-drama.
